Today, we'll be going over an Oyster Perpetual, Datejust 41, by Rolex. A blue dial with diamond hour marks with a fluted white gold bezel. Oyster style bracelet, reference number 126334 as, okay, and we'll be going over the case, the dial, the bezel crown functions, the movement, as well as bracelet, and I'll be giving you my thoughts on all of these throughout the video. All right. As indicated in the name, Datejust 41, means that it is 41 millimeters in diameter from finger to thumb. All right, it also has the mono block middle case, the screw down case back, and the winding crown to all also ensure a water resistance down to a hundred meters or 330 feet. All right, now, taking a look at all of this, it is a high polish along the sides, as well as on the fronts of the lugs. Very nice taper outward. All right. And sitting on top of the case, we have the white gold bezel. A little bit warm compared to the rest of the case, as well as the bracelet, but it has that very nice appearance. A very legacy sort of appearance from Rolex. Now, it was originally made with the intent of screwing directly onto the front of the case in order to ensure its superior water resistance, but, you know, technological advancements have sort of made that, well, kind of unneeded, rather. So, they've decided to keep it, but, you know, keep it as a mark of distinction. So it's always made in some sort of gold, and in this case, white gold to match that with the case and the bracelet as well. Right now, looking a little bit closer at the style here, we have the in or the diamond style hour marks. 10 in total. The 12 o'clock and the three o'clock taken up by the Rolex crown logo, and the date aperture respectively. Now, looking at this date aperture, it's also underneath a Cyclops lens, which is placed directly onto and is actually a part of the Sapphire crystal. Scratch resistant as well. All right, and looking at the way the blue works it is also a SunRay type of finish. A bit subtle depending on your angle of light and angle of viewing, but absolutely beautiful and very deep, much deeper than it is, you know, any other value of blue. It's a very, very nice thing to see, especially with the naked eye. The camera's having trouble picking it up, you know, and it's, you know, in all of its glory, but yo, certainly looking at this with the naked eye, absolutely beautiful. And now when we're looking at the functions here, it works as you would expect. The crown at the three o'clock side unwinds to the first position. This allows you to wind the watch about 20 to 30 full winds is all you need to get to a full power reserve, right? Pull it out to the second position, and you can advance the date by simply winding the crown clockwise. It feels less than a quarter turn to advance it by one day each time. So the throw is actually very, very short, incredibly short. And so when you find yourself on the 30th of a month, for example, you can just do a half turn and go directly to the first of the next month, no extra faff needed. Pulling the crown out to the final position stops that seconds hand, introducing that hacking motion or hacking movement or rather lack of movement, right? Allowing you to precisely move the minute hand as necessary. All right, adjust it to an atomic clock, press the crown back in, and screw it nice and tight against the case to ensure that superior water resistance. Now, what allows all of this to work is the 32 35 caliber made in house by Rolex. You can't see through this solid case back, but it is certainly there. As you can see,, I've demonstrated all of its functions here. It has a plus or minus two second per day time differential after casing exceeding Swiss standards which are between minus five and plus seven seconds per day, time differential. This one has a plus or minus two second per day. It has the center hour, minute, and seconds hands, with the instantaneous date with rapid setting, as I demonstrate, it also has that stop seconds for precise time setting, also, as I demonstrated with that hacking movement, that hacking function. The oscillator is also a paramagnetic blue perachrom hairspring which allows for magnetic resistance and the high performance peraflex shock absorbers as well also help absorb any bumps or, you know, potential impacts from affecting the time keeping. Don't get close to an MRI, and, you know, certainly don't throw it off a cliff, but you know, all of those could potentially just break it rather than, you know, a loss of time would be the least of your concerns in those situations anyway. All right, and also the oscillator or the winder, rather, on the inside is also a bidirectional self winder. What does that mean? That means that you can simply wind this to its full power reserve capacity with the winding crown, and simply wearing it on your wrist will allow you to effectively continue to wind the watch up to its maximum 70 hour power reserve. Extremely, extremely nice for a Datejust 41. Now, so that means you can simply place this down on a Friday evening, pick it back up on a Monday morning, absolutely no need to wind the watch. It'll stay fully powered for almost three days, exceptional. All right, now looking at the bracelet here, we have the oyster style bracelet, flat three piece links all the way across, the center links being a high polish, while the outer links are a satin finish. On the sides of those links, we also have a high polish as well, leading down to the oyster folding clasp, same sort of finishing procedure there. Opening it, very easy, just lift the top, and it opens very nicely and very easily. We also know that this is entirely made of steel as you can see on these little engravings on the bracelet itself. All right, and looking underneath the clasp, the advantage to having the oyster folding clasp is that you have an easy link five millimeter extension. So, throughout the day, your wrist could expand depending on your hydration levels or just the general heat in your climate. So, to give yourself an extra five millimeters, simply pull on those links right there, very easy, extra five links. And if you need to put it back, you can simply just fold it back on itself, and it snaps right into place, nice and easy. All right, and while we're here, I can actually try it on and give you my thoughts as to how it feels on the wrist and the overall wearing experience. Now, as this is an oyster or rather a Datejust 41, this are rather large for me. I have a seven inch wrist in circumference. I'm not getting much bracelet between, you know, the 12 o'clock and the six o'clock side. I'm getting all dial. And that's not necessarily a bad thing because you're certainly able to see the dial very easily. And with this deep blue, all those depths, the depth of all these values of blue that you see on this sunburst sort of dial, certainly very enticing. And it's, I believe, it's very fitting having a 41 millimeter size watch. Now for me, I would prefer to have a 36, but a 41, I can't say no to either, especially with those diamonds set in there. They play in the light, they reflect and refract light from just about any angle, so it's very easy to read in any lighting situation. When it comes to the weight, it's not the lightest thing out there, but it's not the heaviest either. The counterweight of the bracelet works very nicely against the case, not a perfect counterweight, so you do feel a bit of the case lobbling around on the wrist potentially, but it's not very much, all right? And the center of gravity, just under or just above the center of the wrist. So, you know, it's not like you're swinging a ball and chain around, for example. All right, so I think it's an excellent watch and excellent wear, a very good intermediate or entry point or intermediate level for any Rolex watch collector, anyone who's getting into the world of watches. This is an excellent entry point as well because having that blue dial, you can't say no to that. And with the diamond hour markers, I'm moving it in my light box and you can clearly see them very nicely. Roman numeral hour marks tend to reflect darkness a little bit more than light, so having this nice added contrast with these diamonds just adds so much more to it. But anyway, that's enough of my thoughts. What are your thoughts on this watch?
